Restaurants: There’s almost always a queue for the hotel’s famous Café Sacher (open 8 am-midnight), the iconic red and white coffee house where you can enjoy a slice of the famous Sacher Torte.Other Facilities: There’s a room on the first floor with bulletproof windows and a quick escape route designed for dignitaries and celebrities.Activities: Eating the famous Sacher Torte and perusing the photos of the hotel’s history and illustrious guests.Babysitting services and cots are available. Families are very well catered for and children get teddy bears on arrival, special linens, a children’s guidebook to the hotel, special treatments at the spa, and kids’ menus at the restaurants. For Disabled Guests: The hotel is very well-equipped for disabled guests with numerous specially designed rooms and services.The signature treatments use St Bath and La Prairie products and include an indulgent chocolate-based experience. Spa: Luxurious spa that features a sauna and steam bath.How to Book: will have the best rates.During other months, you may be able to find last-minute rooms. July and August are less busy but still think of booking around a month in advance. When to Book: At least 4 months out for the Christmas season and 3 months for dates in May through June-end and September through October.Also, anyone who knows furniture will revel in the fine, sometimes museum-quality pieces found in the rooms (we spotted a Biedermeier desk). The Oper/Kärtner tram stop on the Ringstrasse Tram loop that circles the central area of Vienna is a 4-minute walk (0.2 mile). ![]() How to Get There: The Karlsplatz and Stephansplatz U-Bahn stations are both 6 minutes away and the Herrengasse station is a 9-minute walk (0.5 mile), while the Kärntner Straße bus station is right across the road (75m). ![]() The area itself is busy but quiet and upscale. Many of the city’s top sights are under a 10-minute walk away.
